After weeks of nagging, i finally got the macaroons that i always wanted from one of the few places i know selling them. Babycakes Sweet Shoppe in The G City Hotel located at Jalan Tun Razak. But i went on the wrong day. It was Saturday - the end of the week - and there were only four out of eight leftover flavours from Friday. I wanted to try all the eight flavours badly.
If you are there, don't bother to mention Babycakes Sweet Shoppe or the unit number. No one will know. I did that the other day and none could tell me where was it until i mentioned "the florist." It's actually way easier to get there from the main entrance of the hotel. Just turn to your right the moment you go into the hotel using the main entrance. Then you will see a very small florist stand hidden at one corner.

It's quite empty on a Saturday.
The four out of eight flavours available: Green Tea and Strawberry at RM2.50 per piece, and Caramel and Black Sesame at RM2.20 per piece.
The taste of the strawberry macaroon was quite artificial except that right in the middle, there was a little bit of strawberry puree or jam that made it tasted a little bit better.
I am not a fan of green tea flavoured food. But i would give two thumbs up for this green tea macaroon. Unlike the strawberry macaroon, the taste was so pure and rich with green tea. The same went for the black sesame one.
However, i had made the wrong decision to eat the one with caramel and salted butter lastly. Out of the four flavours, i dislike that the most and bf actually frowned after taking the first bite. Perhaps, the both of us could not get used to the taste.
I will be back for the remaining flavours that i did not manage to try.
Macaroons from Babycakes Sweet Shoppe are delicious enough and the price is also very affordable. Waaaaay cheaper than Nathalie's Gourmet Studio at Solaris Dutamas that cost RM4.00 something per piece.
If you could not think of anything to be a gift, i would suggest macaroons from Babycakes Sweet Shoppe. The macaroons can be packaged in a nice black box with golden lining.

I think greentea one would be my favorite too.
That's HALF the price of what Nathalie's selling them!
Any significant difference?
