*~ Cozy House ~*

Cozy House Restaurant at Great Eastern Mall, Jalan Ampang.

Choy sum in oyster sauce.

Green curry.
Reuben's favourite when he is there.

Fried squid in buttermilk sauce.
This is real good! Easy to be chewed, unlike some other squids. Reuben's new favourite after i decided to order this. The price of chicken and other meats there are the same as seafood. So, why not ordering this?

They also serve individual meals; from eastern to western.

~* Bye Bye, Stila *~

Stila is leaving Malaysia and tomorrow will be the last day for people to grab whatever is left. At first i did not really bother until friends of mine were getting so crazy over it. I got influenced. Who would not when the prices are slashed by 50% to 70%. After the discount, the prices of all Stila products are around the prices of other cosmetic brands that you can find at Watson! Anyway, i just grabbed its mascara and lip glazes. I still have the supply for the rest or i don't use them.

Now, i can study with peaceful mind. No more Stila.

*~ BBQ Pork's Birthday Celebration ~*

It was a belated birthday celebration for him at Pasta Zanmai, Mid Valley. Yes, he is 21 now. My beloved son, Char Siew a.k.a. BBQ Pork.

We were hungry; yet, we could pose for some pictures first before eating.

We were eating; yet, we could still pose for some pictures again.

He had eaten and he started the fun of attacking people.

As usual, camwhoring is a must.

I had never failed to 'molest' Char Siew's DSLR.

What's next?
I don't know.

While the rest of us were waiting for them to finish purchasing Stila products.

While in a very nice washroom.

*~ Dear Eliot ~*

I know about this video from an episode of Oprah Winfrey's talkshows few months back. I just remembered to search for it 15 minutes ago. It is really touching. Never too late to watch this.

~* Sugar Rice Dumpling *~

My second time at Taiwan House.

Mr. [R]'s all time favourite Dry Beef Glass Noodle. He told me that he only orders this everytime he is there.

My Dry Prawn Ball Glass Noodle. I don't know whether the prawn balls were just like other prawn balls that you can get anywhere or they were specially made or homemade. Well, i just enjoyed eating the prawn balls. I also love the the fried chopped garlic that was sprinkled on top of the meat or balls. Beware if you happen to have dry glass noodle. It was literally dry until i almost got choked by it. Fortunately the dry glass noodle was served with a small bowl of soup.

Rice dumpling. There are two main types of rice dumpling. The first type of rice dumpling is the one that tastes salty and having different ingredients in it such as egg yolk, chestnut, pork meat, dried shrimps, beans and so on. This type of rice dumpling is supposed to be dipped with soy sauce traditionally.

Another type of rice dumpling is the one made of alkali water ("karn sui") and either having nothing or there will red bean in it. Usually, this rice dumpling is to be dipped with something sweet such as kaya, gula Melaka, or sugar. The size of this dumpling is smaller than the other one.

I have this habit of dipping the first type of dumpling with sugar instead of soy sauce. I have no idea who taught me this when i was a kid. Ahhh, i just love it when it comes to eating rice dumpling.

I don't know how far Mr. [R] likes it. Mum gave me a dumpling to be shared with him. I asked him to try it with fine sugar. At first, i saw no reaction from him and he told me there was nothing much about the rice dumpling with sugar. The next thing i knew, i saw him taking every bite of the rice dumpling with more and more sugar on it. The reason he gave was, "I don't want to waste the sugar." After he had finished everything, i asked him whether the rice dumpling was nice to be eaten with sugar, he replied, "You laaa...! I start to get addicted to it." It is my fault again. =/

*~ Peek-A-Boo ~*

Yeah, i know that i did not update my blog for a week. It is not very long to you, but i feel it differently. The following picture is just a sneak preview on what i am going to update in the next post. Well, i am still waiting for the complete set of pictures from Gorgan.

I am not sure if i will have other interesting pictures or posts here after the next post as i need to start preparing for my final examination papers. I desperately need to score for this semester before i land myself in deep shit. When i have done with my papers, it also marks the beginning of me working temporarily even for just five weeks. That happens when money rules one's life. I should be glad that i can find for myself a job and earn some income in such a short period. At the same time, i will be wondering hard on what Mr. [R] is going to do when i am busy working but he is not.

After this semester, i will be dealing with great uncertainties until the day i graduate from college. It is completely useless to elaborate here right now. The list is going to be long and it will not interest you all. Phew! I start to hate my college!

~* Very Wrong Timing *~

What is the percentage of me being the first swine flu a.k.a A (H1N1) victim in Malaysia?

  1. Fever on last Tuesday night until Wednesday.
  2. Sore throat (not really sore but it is pain as if my throat is swollen!) since last Thursday until now.
  3. Cough and flu since Sunday.
  4. I don't have diarrhea.
  5. I have not been vomitting.
  6. I did not contact anyone who recently travelled to countries with people infected by this virus.

Is there a chance that the virus develops by itself in me?

Gosh! Why do i get sick at the worst timing?

With this weather, who does not get sick?

The worst thing is i think i have infected Mr. [R] with some of these. =_="

*~ Masak-masak ~*

Yesterday, Mr. [R] came over and i decided to cook pasta using McCormick's Creamy Garlic Alfredo Sauce Mix. I told him about this sauce mix before that it really helps noobs in the kitchen like me to cook a delicious Alfredo pasta. I also promised before that i would cook that for him. All i need were milk, butter, sauce mix, button mushrooms, sliced chicken steak and pasta.

Pros and cons for not only having a boyfriend who knows how to cook, but also he does learn how to cook. Pros are you get to eat delicious food, you won't die of hunger, you have free cooking lessons and you can just sit down and shake your legs. The cons, as i have expected, he is just going to look at you cooking in the kitchen and pinpoint on what you are doing.

Like he did yesterday, he said that i was very dangerous and about to cut my own fingers while holding the knife slicing the button mushroom. I told him that i would not as i estimated the gap in between the knife and my fingers. Then, he said, "You should attend some basic lessons." Ishh~ I was cooking for him and he still wanted to talk so much. Zip your mouth! :P At least i am not limited to cooking instant noodles and frying an egg.

Of course the Alfredo pasta was nice. Not that i am trying to praise myself here, but you just can't get wrong with the sauce mix. In the small pot, it seemed like the pasta was not enough and he added once. Then i added once. It ended up that the pasta we cooked could be for three persons and the sauce was just enough for two. @.@ So, i put the leftover pasta in the fridge.

I don't really eat much nowadays so the leftover pasta is just right for my two meals on a beautiful Sunday. I just had my first round for brunch. I was clueless on what to be used as the pasta sauce since i don't feel like taking white sauce anymore though i do have another bottle of white sauce in the fridge. First choice was just putting in ketchup. But i saw my favourite Thai chili sauce. Not the one you can find at KFC's. Real Thai Sauce with the chili seeds and chopped chilis in it! So, i reheated the pasta, added in some button mushrooms again and some of the leftover chicken steak, and poured in a bit of the sauce. Voila! East met West. Delicious! I never knew it could be so delicious. It was not oily at all too.

Like Michael Smith from Chef At Home said, "My secret recipe? Cooking with the other recipe."

I am going to do it again for dinner!

*~ Din Tai Fung ~*

I had family dinner at Din Tai Fung, The Gardens. It was an early Mother's Day celebration for mum.

Xiu Long Bao.
You just can't resist this when you are having Shanghainese dishes. Together with the ginger and vinegar. Ummm.....

Spring Rolls.
So crunchy on the outside and so hot on the inside. The spring rolls were stuffed with minced pork.

Fried Pork Chop.
It was totally nicer than having a Shihlin's XXL chicken chop.

Fragrant Basil Chicken.
To me, this dish was quite alright. It might due to the basil that made it tasted a bit funny.

Tofu with Pork Floss and Egg.
Nice presentation.

I will definitely go back to the restaurant again to try other things such especially its Hot and Sour soup and La Mian.

~* Butter & Oil *~

Mr. [R] and i were at Mid Valley today. We used the advertiser pass again to watch Paul Blart: Mall Cop after using it once three days ago to watch Wolverine. Yes, i watched it on the very first day when it was shown in the cinema. Anyway, the movie was quite alright and it was not as funny as i thought.

After the movie, we had dinner at Manhattan Fish Market ordering its dory fish that was served with garlic butter rice and topped with garlic butter sauce. We only ordered one set because it came with another slice of dory fish for free due to the promotion that it is having. We just added on a garlic butter rice and we shared. Believe me. With only these, you can eat until you have the urge to vomit.

To prove to Mr. [R] that eyeliner can be an alternative tool to jot down notes even on a serviette.

Enough to make you feel like vomit back the food. Imagine the deep fried dory fish, garlic butter rice, garlic butter sauce. One word. Fattening. Oh no, not again! It is a must to go back for healthier diet!

Another agreement is being established today. Not by Mr. [R], but by myself. No dining at Manhattan Fish Market for the next 6 months. Most of the items in the menu are involving deep frying and garlic butter sauce. It is seriously enough to have it once in a blue moon.
